Netherlands qualified for the ODI World Cup for the first time in 12 years after the 2011 edition by defeating Scotland.

Now the tournament is dominated by Netherlands, Zimbabwe and Scotland.

But it has run the big teams close and beaten some strong opponents. It is unfortunate that Zimbabwe and Scotland did not qualify for the tournament as only 10 teams.

Sri Lanka were expected to be one of the favorites going into the World Cup, but

the Dutch crushed the Scots as they chased down the target of 278 runs in just 42.5 overs.
